On arriving at someone’s door

A therapist who has spent his career creating the conditions for others to hear themselves think came to me at a crossroads. There is a particular courage in arriving at someone else’s door. In saying: I know things. I am capable. And right now I need to be held by someone else’s steadiness while I find my own.
